I’ve been telling stories all my life. First in spiral notebooks that are still stashed in a drawer somewhere in my parents’ house, then on the stage.

As a budding writer, my calling was poetry and every human on the planet got a “Tami Original,” framed and wrapped, as a birthday gift. Some might still exist in dusty closets somewhere. Most are probably buried in a trash heap just south of Rocky Flats. (That’s an old nuclear weapons plant not far from where I live, kids.)

As a director, my search for a playwright’s meaning rests in finding the heart of a character’s story. Where does it beat? What are the characters’ deepest desires?

As and educator working with young, brilliant, creative minds, I’ve had countless opportunities to be awed and inspired by the adolescent ability to dream big about the undiscovered whatever.

At the intersection of my directing life and my educator life lies my writer life. Where I find meaningful, character driven stories that explore aspirations for the next chapter, whatever stage of life the character is in.

I have always loved crafting lyrical tales with universal truths, where humans are the heroes of their own stories.

I hope you enjoy the stories I have to tell as much as I love telling them.
